Edinburgh has two faces (at least), a somber one with deep shadows and narrow closes, as the dark and hidden lanes are called here, but also the brightest and bluest sky and a golden evening light on the stone walls.

And there are the mossy stones on the cemetaries, sinking down and breaking. This water color painting is "Ancient Cemetaries" and also refers to the beautiful and multicolored stones you can find in Scotland.
