Almost 40 years ago, my mother gave me two pieces of African print cloth. She did not know they were African, she just loved them. Combs and fruit baskets. I have never found fabrics like this, original indigo prints on a batik background. My print colors (fabric paints by Marabu) are way lighter, they do not reach the intensity of the original.
Maybe I'll find a way to intensify my printing ink.

Maybe start with indigo fabric, stamp with soy wax, discharge the fabric and then wash the soy wax out?
nevertheless, your stamped fabric is lovely. your stamp seems to mimic exactly the image in the original cloth.
Ha, printing with your own stamps is so much fun !
Indeed the darker original looks a bit more vibrant ....
Mmmmm would look good in red too I think ;-)
(thanks for the comment, don't know what blogger is doing a lot of times :-( ?)
I have found that lightly sanding the lino block allows it to hold more ink/paint...and adding some "Manutex" thickens the gloop. This then gives a denser print.
I really like those blocks too....
...and agree that a deeper colour would enhance the effect.
