Hi folks, haven't posted for a long time, due to other jobs and fun like going to the chiro to make me walk properly. Don't we all have transitions of Saturn every few years? Being less mobile, I decided to work on my mobiles again. The left one is named "Beach Houses", the right one "Automatic Abstracts". They are made of stiff paper, painted with gouache paints. I made two small videos. Beach Houses and Automatic Abstraction.

By the way: During the past days I removed a few comments which were friendly but not personal, and I did not have the impression that you are interested in the posted content. You came from some advertising sites. Please, whoever you are, I appreciate comments if they show interest, but not if my visitors are trying to collect clicks. Such comments will be removed, sorry.

Eva, those are really lovely, especially the houses! I liked the videos too - what is the music in the first one?
I hope you will feel better very soon!

Yael, the music was played by the Battlefield Band from Scotland. It wasn't really intended, just running in the background while I took the recording out on the balcony.

Entrancing! I watched each one twice and felt myself winding down and relaxing as the shapes danced before my eyes.

Maybe a tutorial is in order here?

Eva- That was so fun to watch! I love how colorful they are as they dance on the wind! Thanks.

Jude post directed me to your blog today--and I watched both videos. The Dancing Beach Houses with perfect bagpipe dance tune, and the turning shapes with childrens voices were simply charming, a welcome treat on a moody Wednesday in New York City!

HA Eva, they're great fun!
(such a looooong time I made those : always joggling to get the balance right before you put some glue on, so they won't move again ...) The big orange house looks like a face sticking out its tongue ;-)
The abstract I like best The shadows are playing along nicely!

Chris, as you mention it, I'm thinking how to do a tutorial -- building a mobile is simple to explain, but it does take some practise and balance to build one -- which is hard to explain. All you need is wire, thread, paper, paint, and glue.
