17 of 70?

That's how far I got. 17 squares; for a bed-size quilt, it would be 7x10 squares, makes 70. Right on. I'm not even sure that the top 9 can be united with the bottom 4. I went astray from the initial principle of a nine-patch in diamond position. The red ones in the middle row stick to the rule. Maybe I'll use the bottom row for another project; what do you think?

Good question. Of course I love the element of surprise, but traditional quilters might lean toward a more strict pattern. Your color choices are joyous.

First of all: the colours are gorgeous Eva !
The original top nine belong together that much is sure, but why not extend (and bend) the original (own) rules a bit ...?
The red ones might kind of encircle the first nine ... (with more to make) and the second more loose design could easily mix in (if you make some more) or stay at a corners .....

70 ? Ha! when I hear Jude is making 900 pieces .... we, poor devils are far from finished ... ;-)

This quilt will be awesome! It is already! It is colorful, individual, unique, interesting, full of texture and surprises. it vibrates with energy! Just go on spilling your soul and heart out on it Eva! Not only the colors are gorgeous and joyous, everything else is, the whole combination!
I LOVE the no-rules concept! Contemporary at the best! :-)

I love it. The blocks with black are my favorite but I think they all work together - maybe in a random arrangement?
