My elegant glove

What a chic model! This is the suspension bandage I'm wearing on my left hand now. It is such a practical device with a zip and a support for the joint inside, I love it. Health insurance pays most of it; I just had to add $ 7.50. Get a public health insurance, I recommend that to you!
Actually, I just wanted to show how much snow fell last night.
J removed the snow from the car to have an easier start tomorrow morning.
Then we took a walk around the lake. It is not large, but there is a little island, a refuge for birds like the grey heron.
The lake was almost completely frozen, and on one of the trees on the bird island I saw the heron standing still. I enlarged this part of the picture to show him more closely.

There is a lake with an island for birds near me also. Do you know the series of etchings called "the Glove" by Max Klinger?

Here is a link to one

The heron looks quite frozen. We have them here in the summer, but I've learned that they move south, just as much as to find open water, in the winter.

Susan, this is the explanation at last for the mysterious disappearing of gloves, leaving a single behind.

How pristine and beautiful the snow looks. I'm still glad ours has gone!
The heron is such a majestic bird, it is always a treat to see one. I am always amazed at the way they suddenly stretch out and become to large when they take off ( rather like Alice 'telescoping' out)

It looks beautiful!...but I can say that now that all of our snow is just about gone at last.

Take care of that hand....

public health insurance - hahahaha -- this is the U.S. where the meds and ins are the most expensive in the world. Bah!
I've got a bracelike that - very annoying to wear - I hated it. That's what makes horse racing.
Hope your hand is better soon.

Ah that was like our snow the last few weeks...it finally started melting the last few days. Its still on the ground everywhere but our sidewalks are clean.

lovely pics!....especially of the heron. We have two who are trying to claim our area as their own territory. It is interesting to watch.
hope your hand is better soon, as I know you must be eager to return to your handwork.

Hi there, too much going on in my part of the world for the past weeks, so it is catch up time. I do hope your hand heals well, and quickly. Your water colour is gorgeous - translated into fabric later?

The snow pictures are great. We live in southern England, in an area that very rarely has snow, although all around people are snowed in. It's like living in another country. Much talk of snow dyeing, no chance here. It was very cold - too cold to attempt dyeing in the conservatory, but now it is getting milder, and the days longer. Wonderful.
